A man was spotted hiding in bushes near a children’s play area in Swindon at the weekend.

Police launched a proactive operation targeting Linear Park, near Shaw Ridge, on Monday following two reports of a male sighted naked in the area.

Specialist police drone pilots provided an eye in the sky whilst local officers carried out foot and bicycle patrols in a bid to locate the offender.

The first incident happened on Saturday at around 4.30pm. A man described as white and aged in his 60s was spotted naked in the area, before heading off on his bike in the direction of Shaw Ridge wearing navy blue shorts and a blue cap.

In a similar incident, at around 6pm on Sunday, a man was seen naked in the bushes near to the children’s play around. He was described as white, aged in his late 40s and stocky. He was riding a black mountain bike and also had navy blue shorts.

Whilst both men were seen to be wearing the same shorts following the incident exposures, it is not yet clear if the two incidents were perpetrated by the same man.

Anyone with information should call police on 101 and quote crime reference 54200051308.
