A dog became seriously ill after eating cannabis during a walk in South Wiltshire.

Police in Mere are warning dog walkers about the incident, urging them to watch their pets carefully when they are out on walks in the area of Long Hill.

The dog, which required immediate treatment from a vet, is now recovering following the ordeal.

Officers are encouraging residents to report the use of drugs, so they can “deal with them”.
