Police have launched an investigation following reports that a mother with her two young children was chased by men in a car in Salisbury.
The concerning incident is reported to have happened in Bemerton Heath today (Friday).
It’s claimed the woman was walking with her two-year-old and six-month-old children in a double pushchair when a car containing three men approached.
It is alleged that the occupants attempted to persuade the woman to put her children into their vehicle.
When she refused, two men are reported to have got out of the car and chased her as she ran with the pushchair towards the Spar shop on Gainsborough Close.
The woman and her children are understood to have reached the shop safely.
A relative said the vehicle involved was believed to be a dark grey Volkswagen Polo-type car with damage and faded paintwork to the front.
The three men were described in the social media posts as being “foreign”, wearing large black coats with their hoods up.
Wiltshire Police told Wiltshire 999s that an investigation has been launched.
The latest report comes after two similar reported incidents in the Salisbury area last week.
Two 10-year-old children were reportedly approached by two men in a dark-coloured car in the St Peter’s Place area at around 7.30pm on Friday 25 September.
Police launched an investigation and pursued multiple lines of enquiry, while keeping an open mind about the circumstances surrounding the report.
Officers also investigated a similar incident reported nearby.
Following a review of CCTV footage and conversations with witnesses, police said they were satisfied that no offences had been committed in relation to that incident.
Detective Inspector Eirin Martin previously said: “We take all such reports very seriously and would encourage anyone with concerns to report them.
“I would ask the public to refrain from speculation on social media.
“Please be assured that our officers will investigate the circumstances thoroughly and take robust action where needed.”
It’s not yet clear if the incident is linked to previous occurrences. The precise circumstances, including the intentions of those involved, have not yet been established.
Anyone with information which could assist the investigation, including video footage, should contact Wiltshire Police by calling 101.
