Air ambulance tasked after car crashes into Chippenham pub wall

An air ambulance has been tasked after a car crashed into a pub wall in Chippenham.

Emergency services were called to a single-vehicle road traffic collision at The Old Lane in Pewsham at around 8pm this evening (Thursday).

A hatchback mounted the pavement in Lodge Road, before striking the wall of the pub’s beer garden.

The driver, believed to be a man, was pulled from the vehicle unresponsive – before Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance were sent to the incident.

According to a witness, around six medics were surrounding the casualty as he was treated. Police also partially closed the road.

The patient is believed to have been taken to the Great Western Hospital in Swindon in a land ambulance, assisted by critical care medics on board.
