UPDATE: Woman, 20s, killed in head-on A4 crash as second woman airlifted
Two air ambulances were scrambled to the A4 after a head-on horror crash just metres from the Wiltshire border this morning (Wednesday).
Emergency services were called to Bath Road between Froxfield and Hungerford at around 7.20am following a multi-vehicle road traffic collision.
The incident involved at least three vehicles, of which two impacted head-on and sustained significant front-end damage.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) and Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance (DSAA) were both tasked to the scene.
DSAA was stood down on arrival, while HIOWAA medics treated a casualty before airlifting them to the Major Trauma Centre at Southampton General Hospital.
Thames Valley Police have closed the A4 both ways to allow for forensic collision investigation work. It’s likely to remain shut until late afternoon.
On the Wiltshire side, police have cordoned off the road at The Pelican Inn – stopping pedestrians and motorists from accessing the area.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “A road closure is currently in place on the A4 Bath Road in Hungerford in both directions this morning (19/8).
“The road is expected to remain closed for some time. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes while officers and emergency services remain at the scene.
“Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
