Police have been alerted after firefighters tackled five outdoor fires in Calne – which may have been started deliberately.
Crews from Calne Fire Station responded to five separate calls involving small fires in the open on Monday 10 August.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said the incidents may have involved deliberate ignition, and Wiltshire Police has been made aware.
Anyone with information about the fires is being urged to contact police on 101.
It comes during a busy start to August for Calne firefighters, who have attended 21 calls so far this month.
With hot and dry conditions continuing, residents are also being asked to take extra care when disposing of cigarettes.
People are also being urged to avoid having bonfires or using disposable barbecues, with small sparks capable of causing fires to spread rapidly.
