Air ambulances medics have treated a casualty injured in a major fire near Swindon.
Emergency services were called to New Road in Chiseldon at 4.07pm on Saturday (8 August).
Six fire engines from across the county were dispatched to a raging blaze involving shed, trees, an electricity pole and subsequently two nearby homes.
Crews from Stratton, Swindon, Westlea, Chippenham Cricklade and Pewsey arrived on scene – battling the flames as they spread across gardens.
Great Western Air Ambulance was sent to the incident, with medics treating an injured casualty. They were taken to hospital by land ambulance.
Further details about the patient and their condition are unknown at this time.
In a statement, Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called at 4:07pm to a property on New Road in Chiseldon, Swindon.
“Six pumping appliances were initially mobilised from Stratton (x2), Swindon, Westlea, Chippenham and Cricklade along with the aerial ladder platform from Swindon and a support vehicle from Pewsey.
“On arrival crews found a fire involving a shed, trees, an electricity pole and two domestic properties.
“Firefighters in breathing apparatus used main lines and hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
“One casualty has been reported and in the care of the ambulance service.”
