Police have imposed a dispersal order around the Avon Tyres site in Melksham following repeated reports of anti-social behaviour.
Officers have received numerous reports about groups of youths entering the Bath Road site over the past two weeks, including reports of people climbing on and damaging the building.
On one occasion, around 40 young people were reportedly seen entering the building.
Police say parts of the site are due to be demolished, creating a significant safety risk for anyone entering the affected areas.
There are also active businesses operating from the site, which police say have been obstructed by groups roaming around the grounds.
A Section 35 dispersal order has now been introduced, giving officers powers to direct people suspected of involvement in antisocial behaviour or disorder to leave the designated area.
The order will remain in force until 6.30pm on Saturday 8 August.
Anyone who fails to comply with a Section 35 direction commits a criminal offence and could be arrested.
Neighbourhood Sergeant Charly Chilton said: “We are aware of the ongoing issues at the Avon Tyres site in Bath Road and the concern it’s causing for local residents and the owner of the building.
“Not only that but due to the repeated break ins at the site and damage caused to the exterior and interior, it has become insecure and unsafe.
“A dispersal order has now been implemented. We will be conducting regular patrols in the area and anyone found in the area who should not be, will be dispersed immediately.
“Anyone who doesn’t comply with the order or returns after being dispersed faces being arrested.”
