An urgent warning has been issued after travellers set up camp on a field in Swindon.
Police were called to reports of an unauthorised encampment at Pembroke Gardens in Moredon on Monday evening (3 August).
Central Swindon North Parish Council has warned local residents not to approach them.
In a statement, a spokesperson said: “The Parish Council is aware of an unauthorised encampment at Pembroke Gardens.
“Police officers have attended the site and have advised that the occupants have indicated they do intend to vacate.
“The Parish Council will continue to monitor the position and liaise with the relevant authorities.
“Residents should not approach or confront anyone at the site.
“Any incidents or concerns should be reported directly to Wiltshire Police by calling 101 and quoting log number 364.
“In an emergency, or where a crime is in progress, please call 999.”
