A large field fire is continuing to burn near Shrewton this afternoon, with firefighters battling the blaze as smoke drifts across the area.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to Elston Lane at 4.07pm today (Tuesday) following reports of the raging blaze.
Two fire crews from Salisbury and Amesbury, along with an off-road lightweight vehicle from Ludgershall, were sent to the scene as efforts to bring the fire under control continue.
Amesbury Fire Station has urged people living nearby to keep their windows and doors closed because of the smoke.
The extent of the fire and what caused it have not yet been confirmed. The incident is ongoing.
