Air ambulance medics were deployed to treat two girls who suffered injuries in an e-scooter crash in Swindon on Sunday evening (19 July).
Emergency services responded to a serious road traffic collision involving a single vehicle in Dunwich Drive, Toothill, shortly before 6pm.
The incident involved two teenage girls falling off an e-scooter they were riding near the junction for Warneford Close – with Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance tasked.
One of the casualties sustained potentially life-changing facial injuries and was taken to the Bristol Royal Infirmary for urgent treatment.
The other was taken to the Great Western Hospital in Swindon for further care.
It’s claimed the owner of the e-scooter had allowed them to have a go on the illegal motor vehicle, before leaving the scene when they crashed.
The road was closed in both directions by police and cordoned off as a crime scene for around two hours.
Before the tape was removed, officers placed up a number of of items – including bloodied tissues – into a brown evidence bag.
