A man has sustained a serious injury in a street fight in Swindon town centre.
Police were called to a disorder breaking out in Morley Street, on the junction with Commercial Road, at around 4pm on Saturday afternoon (18 July).
During the incident a man sustained a serious cut to his hand, Wiltshire Police confirmed.
A crime scene was put in place while investigations were carried out. Officers were seen to take swabs of blood on the ground.
In a statement, the force said: “We are appealing for any witnesses following a serious assault that took place at the junction of Commercial Road and Morley Street in Swindon yesterday (18/07).
“At about 4pm, a disorder took place in which a man has sustained a serious cut to the hand.
“A group of people had reportedly gathered to watch the fight.
“We need to hear from anyone who saw what took place or who may have mobile phone or dashcam footage of the incident.
