There are traffic delays after flooding on the A419 on the ‘hottest day of the year’.
Queues are building on the northbound carriageway in the area of White Hart Roundabout following a shock downpour this afternoon (Tuesday).
Despite temperatures hitting 32 degrees celsius – the heavens opened, with hailstones and rain flooding the road and causing motorists to slow.

The Met Office warned that while many areas would remain hot and sunny, isolated thunderstorms were possible during the afternoon and into the evening.
It said some storms could bring frequent lightning, large hail, gusty winds and as much as 30 mm of rain in less than an hour, increasing the risk of surface water flooding and disruption.
