A Swindon man who strangled and sexually assaulted a woman has avoided prison.
20-year-old Nyle Seabrook attacked his victim – who was known to him – at his home.
She confided in her mother the following day and the incident was reported to Wiltshire Police.
An investigation was launched and the defendant was questioned about the allegations, which date back to December 2023.
He was later charged with three counts of sexual assault and one count of non-fatal intentional strangulation.
Seabrook pleaded guilty to the offences and at Swindon Crown Court on 8 May, Judge Townsend sentenced him to a two-year community order.
The court heard how the man kissed his victim, sucked her breasts and touched her genitals over clothing without consent, and on one occasion strangled her.
He must complete a 26-session course relating to his offending and 20 rehabilitation activity days with the probation service.
The defendant, of Thornhill Drive, St Andrews Ridge, must also register as a sex offender for five years.
