Fire engines have flooded a street in Swindon – as crews tackle a house blaze.
Emergency services were called to the scene in Pinehurst Road at around 1.30pm today (15 May).
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the a “property fire” is being battled by firefighters at present.
Six fire engines and an aerial ladder platform appliance are in attendance. Crews appear to be focused on a roof covered in solar panels, where smoke is issuing.
“The road is currently closed so we are asking for local residents to avoid the area”, a spokesperson said.
Adding: “If you are concerned about the smoke, our advice is to keep doors and windows closed.”
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Please be aware of road closures currently in place in Pinehurst Road and Whitworth Road due to a house fire.
“Colleagues from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service to attend to a roof fire at a residential property in the Pinehurst Road.
“There are no reported casualties.
“Drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.”
