A Wroughton man downloaded thousands of child abuse images.
Robert Hamilton, of Coronation Road, pleaded guilty to three sexual offences when he appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court.
The 57-year-old paedophile was caught in possession of 2,691 indecent images of children across all three categories of seriousness.
On 13 May, he was handed a two-year community order – with the requirement to complete 280 hours of unpaid work and 35 rehabilitation activity days.
Hamilton must register as a sex offender for five years, and was slapped with a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
The SHPO will restricting his use of internet-enabled devices, social media, cloud storage and contact with children under 16.
He’s also banned using the internet to communicate with any other person about the sexual abuse of children.
