A grand Wroughton home has been gutted in a major blaze – after a bonfire spread.
Emergency services were called after the roof of a property in The Pitchens was seen to be on fire at around 4.10pm on Wednesday afternoon (29 April).
Fire crews from Swindon, Westlea, Stratton, Marlborough, Chippenham and Calne were sent to the incident – working to tackle the raging inferno.

A water carrier from Royal Wootton Bassett and a command unit from Pewsey were utilised. A mobile toilet block was also brought in for firefighters.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed that the blaze began by the spread of a nearby bonfire. Thankfully, nobody was injured.
“The fire started accidentally after a garden bonfire spread to a tree and then the house”, a spokesperson said.
Fire crews remained on scene overnight dealing with hotspots.
While the flames were out, work was ongoing at the scene at around midday today (Thursday).
