A suspected placenta has been left in a biohazard bag outside Swindon hospital.
It’s believed the unusual item was found on top of a parking machine in the car park of the Great Western Hospital this morning (Monday).
In a post on social media, a member of the public made the announcement – urging the owner to collect it.
“If anyone has accidentally left a bag containing a placenta… it’s currently sitting on top of the pay machine at Great Western Hospital in Swindon.
“Yes. You read that correctly. A placenta. Just… chilling there.
“We’re not asking questions. We don’t want details. We just feel like it might be something you’d want back?
“I hope the right person comes back for it before someone mistakes it for a very questionable packed lunch.”
UPDATE: A spokesperson for the Great Western Hospital has confirmed that the bag did not contain a placenta.
“It was a mislaid bag of clothes, which has now been removed”, they said.
