Four fire crews have tackled a blaze in a flat in Swindon town centre.
Emergency services were called to the scene at Kingsbridge Point in Clarence Street shortly before 1pm this afternoon (Saturday).
Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rushed into the building and made entry into a flat, where they extinguish the raging flames.

Around ten police officers and PCSOs were in attendance, supporting the evacuation of Kingsbridge Point while 999 crews worked.
Residents were sent to the police point in Euclid Street to take refuge. An ambulance crew were stationed their in case anyone was suffering from smoke inhalation.
It’s understood that nobody was in the flat at the time of the fire. The extent of the damage is unclear at this stage.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We received a call at 12.55pm this afternoon about a fire within a flat on Clarence Street, Swindon.
“Crews from Swindon, Westlea, Cricklade and Stratton attended the incident along with the aerial ladder platform also from Swindon.
“Four breathing apparatus wearers used a main line and positive pressure ventilation to extinguish the fire, and our stop was in at 2.11pm – a fire investigation is underway.”
The road was closed while the incident was dealt with, reopening shortly after 2.30pm.
