A man has sustained major ‘crush’ injuries in an industrial accident in Chippenham.
Emergency services were called to the engineering firm Beck and Pollitzer on Bumpers Farm Industrial Estate on Thursday afternoon (5 February).
Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance were deployed alongside an ambulance service Hazardous Area Response Team from their base in Bristol and local ambulance crews.

The incident – which occurred just before 2.45pm – saw a man aged in his 50s sustained “potentially life-changing leg injuries”, Wiltshire Police said.
Wiltshire 999s understands it the man was crushed by heavy machinery, but this has not been confirmed by authorities at this time.
South Western Ambulance Service confirmed that “one double-crewed land ambulance, an air ambulance, an operations officer, a critical care car and the hazardous area response team” attended.
Adding that one patient was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath for further treatment.
Police remained on scene while the Health and Safety Executive were informed of the incident. A formal on-site investigation was not required, so officers were stood down.
