Police have executed a warrant at Lord Mandelson’s house in Wiltshire.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police Service are understood to have attended the property just north of Wilcot, near Pewsey, this morning (Friday).
It’s as the force’s Central Specialist Crime division execute search warrants at his home, and another in Camden, over his ties with Jeffrey Epstein.
A key Labour politician, Peter Mandelson faces new scrutiny over his relationship with the convicted sex offender following the release of the Epstein files.
In a statement, Deputy Assistant Commissioner Hayley Sewart said: “I can confirm that officers from the Met’s Central Specialist Crime team are in the process of carrying out search warrants at two addresses, one in the Wiltshire area, and another in the Camden area.
“The searches are related to an ongoing investigation into misconduct in public office offences, involving a 72-year-old man.
“He has not been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.”
