A man has been arrested for attempted murder and rape in a Wiltshire town.
Firearms officers, supposed by dog units and a police helicopter, swarmed an address in Durrington late on Friday evening (30 January).
Police closed Bulford Road in both directions as an operation to locate and arrest the outstanding suspect was carried out.
A 38-year-old man, from the Surrey area, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and rape.
A 73-year-old man, from Durrington, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
It’s understood the serious incident took place in Surrey – but the alleged suspect was trying to evade arrest in Wiltshire.
Both men are being held in custody for questioning this morning (Saturday).
