Police have closed a Swindon road after a lorry got stuck under a low bridge.
Officers were called to the road traffic collision in Corporation Street, in the town centre, at around 11.30am this morning (Saturday).
A IVECO Eurocargo small heavy goods vehicle became wedged under Whitehouse Bridge.
The road has been closed by police ahead of an inspect of damage to the bridge and for recovery of the lorry.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Please be aware that closures are in place from Great Western Way to Station Road in Swindon after a heavy goods vehicle has become stuck beneath the rail bridge.
“Recovery is expected to take some hours.
“Drivers are strongly advised to seek alternative routes and expect significant traffic build up.”
