Over the festive period, there will be a number of changes to Wiltshire Council services including hubs, waste and recycling collections and household recycling centres.

Council hubs

Bourne Hill, County Hall and Monkton Park offices will be closed on Friday, 23 December, Monday, 26 December, Tuesday, 27 December and Monday, 2 January.

Waste and recycling

Garden waste collections will be suspended from Monday, 26 December and restart on Monday 9 January.

There will be no waste or recycling collections on Monday, 26 December. All collections during this week will be one day later than normal, with a collection on Saturday, 31 December. These collection days will return to normal from Monday, 2 January.

Anyone who has paid for a garden waste collection can leave their real Christmas tree alongside their garden waste bin on their first garden waste collection day in January and it will be collected and composted.

Household recycling centres

All household recycling centres will be closed from 1pm on 24 December and all day on 25 December, 26 December and 1 January. At all other times normal opening hours will apply, 10am to 4pm, five days a week. Click here to check which days your local centre is open.

A reminder that Wiltshire residents using any of Wiltshire’s household recycling centres to dispose of household waste and recycling in a van, pick up truck, flat bed truck, or large trailer (between 1.8 and 3 metres long), need a permit.

Permits are free of charge, allow a maximum of 12 visits per year and are available here.

To check opening hours for any other services please visit the website www.wiltshire.gov.uk or call 0300 456 0100.
