The police helicopter was tasked in the pursuit of a BMW on the A350 in Wiltshire.
Officers attempted to stop the white M2 in the Chippenham area, after it was observed being driven dangerously at around 9.15pm on Monday (17 November).
The vehicle made off at speed – but was tracked towards Lacock and eventually found in a lay-by outside St Barnabas Church in Beanacre.
A search, supported by the National Police Air Service helicopter crew, led to the arrest of a 25-year-old man.
He was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.
The suspect has been released under investigation while an investigation continue.
