A person in distress on a bridge has sparked the closure of a Chippenham route.
Emergency services responded to a mental health-related incident on a footbridge over the A350 West Cepen Way this morning (Saturday).
Police and the ambulance service dealt with a person in distress, but had resolved the incident by around 8.30am.
The busy road was closed in both directions between Bumpers Farm Roundabout and the roundabout for Sandown Drive for at least one hour.
The footbridge was also shut between Frogwell and Chippenham Rugby Club.
