A man from Trowbridge has been charged with rapes and a serious assault on woman.
38-year-old Darren Howard was arrested following a report made to Wiltshire Police on Monday (27 October).
An investigation was launched by local response team officers and Central CID, leading to the charging of the defendant with six offences.
Howard, Westmead Crescent, faces allegations of three counts of rape, inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent, false imprisonment and controlling and coercive behaviour.
Appearing at Swindon Magistrates’ Court this morning (Wednesday), the bench made the decision to remand him into prison.
The next hearing – a plea hearing – will take place at Swindon Crown Court on 28 November.
