A man has been arrested for a number of offences after an incident in Corsham.
Police were initially called to reports of a suspect attempting to take a child through a window in Meriton Avenue on Sunday (12 October).
Before officers arrived, the man left. However, at around 8.30pm he returned – and police raced to the scene once again.
Neighbours reportedly intervened in the incident, as the suspect attempted to force entry into an address in the street by kicking the door.
Approximately six officers attended and detained the male.
Wiltshire Police confirmed that he was arrested on suspicion of child cruelty, stalking, criminal damage and common assault.
He has since been released on bail while investigative work is carried out.
