An elderly man has died after being hit by a van in South Gloucestershire.
Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision on Victoria Road in North Common, near Bristol, at around 8.20am on Thursday morning (9 October).
It involved a white Ford Transit van and a man aged in his 80s outside the Budgens store, at the junction of Poplar Road.

The pedestrian was treated by local ambulance crews and Great Western Air Ambulance Charity medics, before being taken to hospital.
Despite the best efforts of medical teams, he was later pronounced dead.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “Our thoughts are with his family who have been updated and are being supported by a specially trained officer.
“The van’s driver was uninjured and has spoken with officers.”

Adding: “The road was initially closed to allow emergency services to respond and for an examination of the scene to be completed but it reopened yesterday afternoon.
“Anyone who witnessed the collision or who has any dashcam or CCTV footage that could help our investigation should call 101, giving the call handler the reference number 5225283173.”
