A Wiltshire man has been remanded in custody over his alleged stalking of a woman.
Patrick Egerton appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on 29 September charged with stalking involving fear of violence.
The 28-year-old, of Spiders Island, Alderbury, is accused of targeting Lauren Barton in a campaign of harassment.
It’s claimed he published the complainant’s home address online, accused a family member of being a child sex offender, and made repeated calls from withheld numbers.
The alleged offending is said to have taken place in Salisbury between 1 July and 27 September this year.
It is said that the complainant feared, on at least two occasions, that violence would be used against her.
Egerton was remanded in custody by District Judge Joanna Dickens, who deemed the case too serious for the magistrates’ court.
The defendant will next appear at Swindon Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on 31 October.
