Firearms officers were deployed to arrest four men from Swindon after the armed robbery of an electric bike.
The suspects, carrying weapons, had threatened a man and stolen the vehicle after they had arranged to meet and purchase it in Gloucester on Wednesday (17 September).
The serious incident happened on Tredworth Road at around 1.30pm – and it was reported that the four men left the area in a car moments later.
Armed police were spotted in a lay-by on the A419 near Cricklade as they waited for the offenders to make their way back to the Swindon area.
The vehicle was stopped by officers, and all four suspects were arrested.
The men, who are all from Swindon and between the ages of 21 and 39, were arrested on suspicion of robbery.
The stolen e-bike was not located within the vehicle and it is believed that it may have been dumped in the Tredworth area.
Anyone who comes across the e-bike is asked to report this to police”, a spokesperson for Gloucestershire Police said.
Adding: “Enquiries are ongoing and officers are asking anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened to make contact.
