A Wiltshire MP has defected from the Conservative Party to Reform UK.
Danny Kruger MBE, who represents East Wiltshire, announced his support of Nigel Farage – hoping for him to become the next Prime Minister.
The local MP made the announcement during a press conference this morning (15 September), stating that the Conservative Party “is over” and no longer serves as “the principal opposition to the left”.
It has been confirmed that Kruger will now take on a role within Reform UK focused on preparing the party for government.
In a statement, Cllr Ed Rimmer, the Reform group leader in Wiltshire Council, said he is “delighted to welcome” the MP to the team.
Continuing: “As Danny said in his speech this morning, the Conservative Party is over as a national force and it is no longer the main opposition to the left.
“Danny’s experience will be invaluable as we look to form the next government, and we are delighted that he will head up the party’s new Department for Preparing for Government.
“It is excellent news that Wiltshire now has a Reform UK MP and we look forward to working together.”
