A woman has died following an incident at GCHQ – which saw Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance attend the scene earlier today (Monday).
999 crews raced to a medical emergency at the Government Communications Headquarters in Telstar Way, Cheltenham, shortly after 1pm.
A woman, aged in her 80s, reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest at the secure site.
Despite the best efforts of first responders, including Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance critical care medics, she was pronounced dead a short time later.
Gloucestershire Police confirmed that the woman’s death is not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Police received a report at around 1.10pm that a woman in her 80s had suffered a suspected medical episode inside a building on Telstar Way in Cheltenham.
“Emergency services attended and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
