A Swindon man has been banned from harassing a woman after a domestic incident.
Shaun Burrows opposed the application for a Domestic Violence Protection Order (DVPO) by Wiltshire Police at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (4 September).
The 47-year-old, of Sudeley Way, Grange Park, was initially served with a Domestic Violence Protection Notice (DVPN) following an incident last week.
The court granted the order for a period of 28 days to protect the woman – who is the alleged victim.
The DVPO prohibits Burrows from molesting the woman, contacting her directly or indirectly or attending her address in Sudeley Way.
The court granted the order to allow time for the alleged victim to seek longer-term protection if required.
Breaching the DVPO, which is a civil court order, will result in a criminal conviction.
